Advancements in Training and Service Expansion
By the end of April, membership reached 7,989. Over the past year, the Association conducted 12 Continuing Professional Training (CPT) courses, with a total attendance of 19,404, underscoring the emphasis on continuous professional development. The executive team has diligently supported members on issues such as labor rights, licence applications, and compliance inquiries, reinforcing its role as a trade union and championing professional rights.
Proactive Advocacy and Industry Rights Defense
Throughout the year, the Association actively represented the industry by participating in consultations on securities market regulation, IPO reform, settlement cycles (T+1), and paperless markets. In response to trends involving "finfluencers" and virtual asset service providers (VASPs), the Association provided insights at seminars hosted by the Securities and Futures Commission and engaged with Legislative Council members to address practitioners’ concerns, seeking a balance between regulatory compliance and industry growth.
Global Engagement and Strategic Outreach
The Association remains committed to expanding its members' reach into global markets. In April, the President participated in the "Hong Kong Labour Delegation to May Day Celebrations" in Shandong and Beijing, delivering a speech at the Great Hall of the People to highlight the resilience of Hong Kong’s financial professionals. Internationally, the Association is promoting Islamic finance courses in Hong Kong and has partnered with the University of Indonesia. A delegation is set to visit Indonesia on May 19 to enhance cross-border cooperation.
Enhanced Governance and Talent Recognition
To support sustainable growth, the meeting ratified constitutional amendments to refine objectives and the Council’s election system. The successful completion of by-elections and co-options introduced seven young industry talents to the Council, enriching the Association with diverse professional insights.
The meeting concluded with the acknowledgment of members who have significantly contributed to policy advocacy and operational support. Recognized members include:
