Recently, a Bloomberg News reporter published an article titled "Hong Kong traders cling to lunch break as exchange seeks to scrap it," which cited our Permanent Honorary Chairman, Mr. WONG Kwok On David. At the time, Mr. Wong clearly stated to the Bloomberg reporter that he would not accept an interview and requested that they contact the current Chairman.
Today (July 23, 2026) in the morning, our Chairman, Mr. Mofiz CHAN, called the Bloomberg News reporter to clarify the situation. Chairman Chan stated that our Association welcomes interviews from journalists around the world regarding industry issues; while we fully respect press freedom, we also urge the media to act properly and follow the rules! The Bloomberg reporter unilaterally claimed to cite Chairman Wong's views on the 2011 incident, using historical and policy contexts alongside the need for firsthand industry experience.
