HKSFPA Successfully Convenes the 2024-25 Annual General Meeting and the Tenth Council Election

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Professionals Association Successfully Holds the 2024-25 Annual General Meeting and the Tenth Council Election. The new council unites professional strength to promote the development of the association
On May 12, 2025, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Professionals Association held the 2024-25 Annual General Meeting and the Tenth Council Election. Through member voting, a new council was elected, with Mr. Mofiz Chan successfully re-elected as chairman. A total of 24 council members were elected to form the new leadership team, collectively leading the association towards further development.
New Council Line-up
The election resulted in the selection of nine vice chairmans: Mr. PONG Cheuk Pun Nicholas, Mr. WONG Shing Ho Steven, Mr. IP Hon Tak Thomas, Mr. LIU Tsan Pui Martin, Mr. HUI Yau Wing, Mr. CHAN Ho Ping Marco, Mr. MAK Pui Hang Eric, Mr. LI Sai Chung, Mr. LAM Chi Shing Bruce. The council is divided into five core departments, with personnel assignments as follows:

Review of the Ninth Council's Affairs
During the meeting, the ninth chairman, Mr. Mofiz Chan, briefly reported on the achievements of the 2024-2025 association affairs. He summarized and reviewed the accomplishments of the ninth council, including successfully prompting significant concessions from the Securities and Futures Commission on futures risk amendments, restoring stamp duty on stocks, narrowing stock trading spreads, and unit restructuring, as well as doubling the number of members.
Chairman's Address
Subsequently, Chairman Chan encouraged the new council to continue the work of the association, uphold the core spirit of "team-based," continuously advocate for members' rights, and actively promote industry development. Finally, Chairman Chan expressed heartfelt gratitude to all directors, members, and partners who have contributed to the development of the association and hoped that under the leadership of the new council, the association could make greater contributions to the development of Hong Kong's financial industry.
