Recent statistics released by the Hong Kong Police indicate a rise in the overall crime rate during the first five months of this year compared to the same timeframe last year. This increase is particularly pronounced in incidents of telephone scams, online shopping fraud, phishing, and investment fraud. Of particular concern is the notable uptick in investment scams that involve impersonating well-known public figures or investment experts on various social media platforms. These fraudsters take advantage of the trust associated with these individuals to mislead the public for their financial benefit.
In light of the police's request for assistance in tackling fraud, our organization has created a dedicated email address for reporting suspected investment fraud cases: reportscams@hksfpa.org. If you encounter any dubious posts or accounts that you suspect may be fraudulent, we encourage you to report them to us at this email address. Please include the following details in your report:

- Links to the suspicious post or account:
Upon receipt of your information, we will forward the pertinent details to the police for further investigation.
Please be aware that this dedicated email is exclusively for reporting suspected investment fraud cases and for notifying the police. You will not receive an immediate response regarding the status of your report or any related inquiries. For urgent assistance, please dial 999 or reach out to your nearest police station.
